It's that time of year again: SuiteWorld. Live in Las Vegas, April 23-26, 2018, it promises to be a great event.
At the time of writing, signups are still open and if you pay for your ticket before April 6, 2018, then you get $200 off your pass. Check out our dedicated SuiteWorld site for details.
There's discussion, talks, keynotes and sessions for everything NetSuite. As SuiteCommerce developers, you'll be glad to know that there are also ones specifically aimed at you.
If you are going and want suggestions for what breakout sessions to attend (or if you need extra convincing), then take a look at some of my picks — based on our session catalog.
Get Your Web Store Ready for SuiteCommerce Extensions [SES1336-DEV]
OK, OK. Gonna get this out of the way now: I am completely biased as I am one of the people giving this talk, but you should come and see what I, Joaquin Gatica and Bruno Benzano have to say about SuiteCommerce extensions.
Extensions are a new way of adding functionality and customizations to SuiteCommerce sites using our fancy extensibility API we introduced last year. This talk is going to introduce them, talk about why we recommend adopting it as an approach for your customizations, and how you can move existing functionality to it.
An important thing to note is that this functionality is crucial to SuiteCommerce Standard, and it has a new set of development processes, so it's super important to attend if you think you're going to be working in this area.
Extending the Commerce Experience with NetSuite Ecommerce Solutions [SES1518-MKS]
If you're not technically-inclined, but still want to find out about extensions, then this talk is perfect for you. Carlos Munoa, Florencia Meilan, and Jackie Fisher are from our product management team and have an excellent grasp on the functionality and are able to talk about it in non-technical terms.
If you are a developer, and assuming no scheduling conflicts, I'd recommend going to both, not only so you can see this functionality from both sides. Not only will it round your understanding, but they're also going to go into upcoming changes to the site management and theming tools.
How to Boost Your Ecommerce Within Budget Using SuiteCommerce Themes [SES1644-MKS]
On the subject of themes and extensions, why not hear about the experiences of one of our partners who been busy trying them out behind the scenes?
We've talked to Tavano before, and this time we'll get to hear from Diego Praderi. He's going to make the case that having a slick site with the right theme and functionality for your industry can make all the difference when it comes to conversions. I imagine he's got a few secrets to reveal, so it'll be well worth a listen.
What a Difference a Year Makes: DIY Home Center Web Store Enhancements [SES1117-DEV]
We've featured the folks over at DIY Home Center before, and with good reason. Michael Anderson and Amelia Smith do excellent work on their site, working hard to keep in on the cutting edge and always up for the challenge of trying new technology.
It'll be great to hear from them again, this time taking the time to review the successes and tribulations of the past year. For example, they'll be going over their foray with implementing a scure shopping domain, as well as trying out the new developments to the on-site search and page generator engines.
Troubleshooting Ecommerce Performance [SES1107-DEV]
Performance is a big deal, and it's something every site administrator and developer should take seriously. It's no surprise, therefore that, for the third year in a row, we've rounded up two of our NetSuite experts to host a session offering practical tips to troubleshoot your site, should you notice things going awry.
In Diego Cardozo and Mark Sweeting's talk, they'll demonstrate how to detect and correct various performance pitfalls in SuiteCommerce sites. There'll be plenty of best practices and tools, which we hope will give you the push you need to make your site super fast.
Ask Us Anything about SuiteCloud and Commerce Development [SES1179-DEV]
Got a burning question? Want to hear about the difficulties other customers are having with development? Why not our attend our 'ask us anything' session run by Gerson Rodriguez and Michelle Xue?
Both of these two have a lot of knowledge and experience of developing on NetSuite — if anybody can help you, then you can bet it's going to be one of these two!
Boosting SEO and Conversion for Ecommerce Success [SES1365-MKS]
Although aimed more at site administrators, this should be a good talk to attend. Amelia Smith returns, this time with Martin Przepiorka and Diego Gallo to discuss practical strategies for getting the most out of search engines.
On the Horizon: Ecommerce Product Roadmap [SES1109-MKS]
Finally, I always recommend attending our product roadmap session. In addition to Jackie Fisher and Julien Bessiere, we will have Allison Manetakis, who is our senior director of commerce product management, leading the session.
The three of them will share NetSuite's vision for the future of SuiteCommerce. Personally, I always find it reassuring to find out what's happening in the next 12 months and beyond.
According to the catalog, there are 33 sessions aimed at SuiteCommerce users — with 7 of those aimed at developers too. The above list is just my pick of the bunch, there are plenty outside of this list that I am looking forward to going to too.
Don't forget, too, that we've got big keynote speakers from inside and outside NetSuite, the expo hall, roundtables, and a whole host of other activities.
We also have something special lined up for our commerce customers too, so I wholly encourage you to reconsider coming if you're not planning to. If you are, then I look forward to seeing you there!
