Step 3: Select Themes and Extensions

In this step, you select a theme and extensions to activate for the domain. This page includes the following tabs:

  • The Active Themes & Extensions tab displays all current activations for the domain in one aggregate list.

  • The Themes tab lists all themes available for activation. The Active column indicates the active theme with a check.

    Note

    Themes are not supported on SCIS domains at this time. Therefore, this tab only appears on activations associated with SuiteCommerce and SuiteCommerce Advanced domains.


  • The Extensions tab lists all extensions available for activation. The Active column indicates any active extensions with a check.

Clearing the Active box deactivates the corresponding theme or extension for the domain. You must include at least a theme active to continue the activation process.

Activate

As a best practice, test all activations and updates on a development domain before activating on a live site.

To activate a theme or extension:

  1. Select a theme to activate:

    1. Click the Themes tab.

    2. Check the Active box next to the theme you want to activate.

      You can only activate one theme at a time per domain.

  2. Select extensions to activate:

    1. Click the Extensions tab.

    2. Check the Active box next to any extensions you want to activate.

  3. To deactivate a theme or extension, clear the associated Active box.

  4. Click Activate to activate the selected theme and extensions, or click Cancel to abort the activation process.

Update

Be aware of the following important information regarding theme and extension updates:

  • When an update becomes available, it does not automatically update your domain. You must manually activate the later version.

  • If an update is available for an active theme or extension, the update alert icon appears next to the new version in the Update Available column. This icon appears on all tabs, as applicable.

  • The update alert icon only appears for active themes and extensions. If an update becomes available for a theme or extension that is not currently active, the list of available themes or extensions only provides the latest version as an option.

  • If a theme or extension is part of an unmanaged bundle, you must manually update the bundle using SuiteBundler before the update appears in the Extension Manager.

  • Themes and extension updates that are part of managed bundles become available for update automatically.

  • You are not required to update a theme or extension for a domain.

To keep the current version, leave the Update box clear (unchecked). The update remains available until you either activate the latest version or deactivate the current version. If you deactivate the current version without updating, the latest update becomes your only option the next time you launch the Extension Manager.

To update a theme or extension:

  1. Click the Themes or Extensions tab, as required.

  2. Check the Update box next to the theme or extension you want to update.

  3. Click Activate to activate the selected theme and extensions, or click Cancel to abort the activation process.

    Note

    If the Update box is unavailable, then no update is available in your NetSuite account.
