Commerce Web Stores

When installing SuiteCommerce or SuiteCommerce Advanced for the first time, you must install the most recent version of the appropriate SuiteApp (bundle) and several additional related SuiteApps. SuiteApps can be managed or unmanaged. If a SuiteApp is managed, you automatically receive updates for fixes and enhancements for that SuiteApp without any need to update manually or migrate for future releases. Any unmanaged SuiteApps require a manual update in NetSuite.

Important

If you have not acquired a domain and set it up for NetSuite, see Domains. After your domain is ready, return to this topic to set up your web store.

After the SuiteApps are installed, the necessary records and files for hosting your web store are available in your account. However, you must link your application to a domain before you can view your site. We recommend linking to a development domain for testing. To do this, you must have already acquired a domain for your website.

If implementing SuiteCommerce or the 2019.1 release of SCA or later, you must also deploy the appropriate SS2 SSP Application to the domain and the site, as described in this topic. For more information on these applications, see SuiteScript 2.0 SSP Applications.

To complete your application installation you must:

  • Install the correct SuiteApps and bundles.

  • Link an application to a development domain.

  • Deploy the SuiteScript 2.0 application.

Note

If you are implementing SuiteCommerce, some NetSuite user interface elements, such as menus and menu items, may state SuiteCommerce Advanced. In these cases, follow the procedures as directed.

To install your SuiteCommerce application:

  1. Go to Customization > SuiteBundler > Search & Install Bundles.

  2. Install all SuiteApps (bundles) required for your SuiteCommerce implementation.

In the Keywords field, enter the Bundle ID of the version of the SuiteApp you want to install and click Search. See the following table for a list of SuiteApps and their Bundle IDs. Contact your NetSuite representative if you do not have access to shared SuiteApps.

    Note

The Installed Bundles page displays a list of SuiteApps. Installation of a SuiteApp might take some time. The status column indicates the progress. Refresh the page to update the status.

When installation is complete, you are ready to link the application to a domain.

To link your application to your development domain:

Note

The development domain is the domain used by developers before your site goes live. Link your application to this development domain to ensure everything is set up correctly. When you are ready to go live with your web store, follow this procedure to link the application to your production domain.

  1. In NetSuite, go to Setup > SuiteCommerce Advanced > SSP Applications.

  2. Click View next to the correct application.

    Implementation

    Application Name

    SuiteCommerce

    SuiteCommerce Standard

    SuiteCommerce Advanced

    SuiteCommerce Advanced - Dev xxxx

(xxxx equals the SCA version being installed)

  3. Click Link to Domain to link touch points to your domain.

    Important

Touch points configured for a domain override the touch points configured for the related web site. To take advantage of themes and extensions, you must link the SSP to a domain. However, you must also define touch points on the web site record. Domain-only touch point configuration is not supported. See Link a Website or Domain to an SSP Application and Select Supported Touch Points for details.

You are now ready to deploy the SuiteScript 2.0 (SS2) application to your shopping and checkout domains.

To deploy the SuiteScript 2.0 application:

Note

This procedure applies to implementations of SuiteCommerce and the 2019.1 release of SCA and later only.

How you deploy the SS2 application depends on your implementation and how you have set up your checkout and shopping domains. See Shopping and Checkout Domains for details.

  1. In NetSuite, go to Setup > SuiteCommerce Advanced > SSP Applications.

  2. Click View next to the correct application.

    Implementation

    Application Name

    SuiteCommerce

    SuiteCommerce SS2

    SuiteCommerce Advanced

SuiteCommerce Advanced - Dev xxxx SS2

(xxxx equals the SCA version being installed)

  3. If your commerce web store uses a single, secure domain for shopping and checkout:

    1. In the SSP Application record, click Deploy to Domain.

    2. In the Domain field, select the domain for your site.

    3. Click Save.

  4. If your commerce web store uses two separate domains for shopping and checkout:

    1. In the SSP Application record, click Deploy to Domain.

    2. In the Domain field, select the shopping domain associated with your site.

    3. Click Save.

    4. In the SSP Application record, click Deploy to Site.

    5. In the Deploy to All Shopping Domains on Site field, select Do Not Display.

    6. In the Deploy to Checkout Domain on Site field, select the site associated with your checkout domain.

Now that your application is installed and properly linked to a domain, you are ready to Configure Minimum Setup Requirements.
